What We Believe

We believe that there is one true and living God. He lives in three persons – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19, Matthew 3:16-17).

We believe that God has created man in His own image (Genesis 1:27). Man was endowed with the freedom of choice. He chose to disobey God, thus, marring the image of God and bringing sin into the world (Genesis 3:1-13, Romans 5:12, Romans 3:23).

We believe that sin destroys the relationship between God and man (Isaiah 59:2). This brings about eternal condemnation to those whose sins are unforgiven (Ezekiel 18:20, Romans 6:23).

We believe that through His death on the cross and His resurrection from the grave, Jesus Christ provides the way of forgiveness from sins (John 14:6). This forgiveness of sins is given as the free gift of God and it brings about eternal salvation to those who accept this forgiveness (Romans 6:23, John 3:16, 1 John 5:10-12).

We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the written Word of God, given by inspiration, and are the only rules of faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the head of the church, which is to be composed of all true disciples, and in Him is vested all power for its government (Colossians 1:15-20).

We believe that the local church is a congregation of believers who are baptized, voluntarily united for the purpose of worshiping God and promoting the cause of the gospel (Acts 2: 42-47, 36-38, Acts 16:25-34, John 4:23-24, Romans 15:6, Matthew 28:19-20).

Furthermore, this church subscribes to the doctrinal statement of “The Baptist Faith and Message.”
